Mount Markham High School's Winter Concert and Art Show is coming right up! The concert and art show will be held on Wednesday, December 13, at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium. We can't wait to see you there!


With support from Arts In Education through Herkimer BOCES, the high school drama club was privileged to attend a special viewing of “A Christmas Carol” at Syracuse Stage.
Syracuse Stage is a non-profit professional theatre company in residence at Syracuse University, and our students had a front-row seat for the exceptional production.




Mount Markham FCCLA and the Village of West Winfield invite you to a Holiday Festival! There will be activities for all age groups, horse-drawn sleigh rides, food trucks, and so much more. We hope to see you all there!

Some of our high school teachers just returned from an exciting NYSCATE Conference! This conference is for educators and technology specialists in New York to come together and share ideas about how technology can benefit student learning and engagement. Sarah Robinson and Alaina Brower ran two sessions on emerging technologies in the classroom that have enhanced education for our students at Mount Markham and how technology can facilitate cross-curricular collaboration between science and English classes. Marie Kenyon joined them at the conference as well!

In anticipation of the Drama Club's Chasing the Carpe Diem production, Mount Markham High School is hosting a Spirit Week next week, 11/13 - 11/17. The Drama Club will give tickets away to the students/staff with the best spirit!

On Wednesday, ten juniors from the National Honor Society visited the Veteran's Outreach Center in Utica to prepare Thanksgiving bags and help with the food pantry. On Thursday, Mount Markham Elementary held a special program to honor and celebrate our local veterans. On Saturday, November 4, the Mount Markham Speech and Debate team hosted its first tournament of the year. Team members Rebecca McClave, Sky McConnell, Kihana Eccleston, L Mahar, Nicholas Thomas, and Clare Reed pitched in to make the day successful. Congratulations to Rebecca for receiving 2nd place in Humour Interpretation and Nick for receiving 1st place in Dramatic Interpretation. Congratulations to our friends at Proctor for winning the team sweepstakes award, something they haven't done in several years. We're happy to see them back and growing!

From October 16 - 20, Sources of Strength at Mount Markham High School hosted "We Belong" Week. Throughout the week, Sources of Strength shared videos each morning centered around anti-bullying/acceptance and hosted awareness and interactive activities during lunch periods. On Wednesday, October 18, all students and staff were encouraged to wear orange as a symbol of acceptance and unity. The week closed with anonymous statements read during forum that had been submitted by students regarding their experiences with bullying and hate. Sources of Strength peer leaders also assisted with a skit/video and a "We Belong" art display.



On Friday, Mr. Mosny's English 10 Honors and Mrs. Brower's English 10 went to the University of Albany to see the play Fahrenheit 451. Our students had a fantastic time!
