Mount Markham CSD has been approved to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students, under the Community Eligibility Provision, starting in the 2023-24 school year and into the foreseeable future. Stay on the lookout for more information to come during the summer.

Yesterday, Mount Markham High School held its annual Fun Day to celebrate the end of the school year. This year, we had an extra special performance by DownBeat Percussion, the official drumline of the Buffalo Bills (even the second grade had to stop by)!
On Saturday, a reception was held for the Young at Art Contest at the Fenimore Art Museum. All five students who were chosen to participate received an award! Congratulations to Klarissa Lewosko and Kaydence Loomis for receiving First Place prizes, and to Emily Hartman, Brianna Edson, and Rebecca McClave for receiving Honorable Mention awards. The exhibition will be on display in the museum until July 19.

The Mount Markham Speech & Debate team competed in the NCFL Grand National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky! Students had a positive experience and received many accolades. We thank and appreciate the community for supporting the team's travel to a competition of this caliber.

Our students have made some pretty awesome designs! As part of an ongoing art project at the high school, students are working on murals made with tape. Stay on the lookout to see how one class will utilize tape art to conclude a year of reading!
The high school is observing "Stress Less" Week, put on by Sources of Strength, to help students relax before finals and Regents Examinations begin in the coming weeks. On Tuesday, students participated in goat yoga as part of the week-long celebration!

Mrs. Brower's English 9 students have been listening to the Bear Brook Podcast. As they approach the end of the unit, they have learned all the pieces of the case to solve the crime. Students successfully "broke out" with the knowledge they have learned over the last few weeks.
Congratulations to Brianna Edson! Brianna created the winning shirt design for the Herkimer County Envirothon. Brianna's design was printed on t-shirts, which were given out to participants in Envirothon. Additionally, Brianna won a $100 prize for creating the winning design!
