We are thankful for the donation and the example he has set for our students. Both of these books are available for purchase on Amazon.com.

On Monday, April 8, 85 high school students and 9 chaperones visited the Oswegatchie Educational Center to view the total solar eclipse! Students enjoyed a day of learning about the eclipse and sun safety, hiking, and playing games before the main event! Students were able to view the partial eclipse starting around 2:10 pm and totality around 3:22 pm, which lasted 3.5 minutes! The students were amazed at how dark it got, how the winds stopped, how the clouds thinned, and how mosquitos actually came out as the temperature dropped. It was an incredible experience that students will remember! Thank you to Mr. Mosny and Ms. Robinson for their work planning this trip. Thank you to Mrs. Kane, Mrs. Gates, Mrs. Martin, Ms. Campion, Mr. Gates, Mr. Bugbee, and Ms. Gates for chaperoning. Thank you to our great bus drivers, Brian Mattison, Jen Jones, and Matthew Wichowsky. And a special thank you to Mr. Zampetti and Mr. D'Apice for supporting this once-in-a-lifetime event for our students who signed up!

Last week, Mount Markham High School celebrated Mentor Madness Week. For the past few years, our Sources of Strength program has hosted this week in March, in addition to numerous other mental health campaigns throughout the year. Mentor Madness Week highlights the importance of each student having a trusted adult, a proven protective factor in strengthening mental health. Throughout the week, there were numerous activities celebrating these strong and valuable relationships: "Mojo's Minute to Win It," Guess the Mentor's Song and Photo, Dress Like Your Mentor, and thank you cards and bracelets. The week concluded with the annual Wellness Fair, which promotes mental health, self-care, and wellness through several activities and resources. We had a variety of activities, giveaways, and more with multiple organizations and groups present again this year including iCAN, the Utica Zoomobile, Clark Sports Center, NY Project Hope, Catholic Charities, and more!
We appreciate all the high school staff members who participated and helped out all week long!
