Knowing that the needs of our students and their families may still be present over the break, we want to make sure that our community knows that, while the school is closed, Connected Community Schools is still working and able to connect with families to meet their needs. Each building will have a site coordinator on-site over the break. Site coordinators are not working on 12/23, 12/26 and 1/2. On-call CCS staff will be available 24/7.

We love to see collaboration between our schools! Students from Mr. Rathbone’s 8th-grade Advanced Technology class made Christmas ornaments and brought them to Mrs. Jones’s kindergarten class. The kindergarten students decorated the ornaments and got to take them home.

Congratulations to Eric Bugbee for receiving a Staff Shout-Out! We appreciate your willingness to go above and beyond to help your colleagues, students and school.

Staff Shout-Out: Eric Bugbee, quote reads: "Eric (and his students) is the go-to person at the high school when something needs to be made or fixed. Need your cabinet file folder holder welded because it keeps breaking? Eric and his classes help out. He's helped build a variety of things for our classrooms that are needed and, if something is broken, oftentimes kids will say 'I'll take it to Mr. Bugbee's, he can help us fix it!' We really appreciate this!" Photo of Eric Bugbee

The Mount Markham High School Drama Club is excited to present their upcoming performance of "The Play That Goes Wrong" on Friday, December 9th and Saturday, December 10th! Both performances are at 7:00 pm in the Mount Markham High School Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students and $25 for family. “Break a leg!” takes on a whole new meaning for a woefully misguided troupe of players at the Cornley University Society’s opening night performance of The Murder at Haversham Manor. An unconscious leading lady, a corpse who can’t play dead, a ruffled detective, and a word-mangling butler (among others) must battle against technical gaffes, forgotten lines and sabotaging scenery in a quest to arrive all in one piece at the final curtain call. Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, all mayhem, this 1920s whodunit is disastrously delightful.

Staff Shout-Out: Janet Crim, quote reads: "When you are going to school for teaching, there should be a required class called, 'How to Fix the Copier 101.' If this was a class, then Janet could be the professor! Anytime there is a jam, toner that needs changing, or just paper that needs to be filled…Janet is there! In the hustle and bustle of the school day, it can go overlooked how many times Janet saves the day by fixing the copier. She so selflessly gives of her free time to help any co-worker in need. If you’ve ever jammed the copier, you know how frustrating it can be when it doesn’t work. However, Janet’s helpful attitude can instantly put your mind at ease because you know she will do everything in her power to ease your frustration and fix that machine. Thanks for being the Middle School’s Copier Guru!" Photo of Janet Crim
Congratulations, Nicolette! We appreciate all that you do for our students.

Staff Shout-Out: Nicolette Burgess, quote reads: ""I am absolutely blown away by the compassion, understanding and excitement I received from my child's fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Burgess, during a parent-teacher conference. I raised a few concerns regarding my child, and Mrs. Burgess took notes and told me she would follow up with my child with these things to make sure he was comfortable at school. My child is excelling in the fifth grade, and I am positive it is from the supportive and caring fifth grade staff. I am looking forward to what else this year has to offer to my child.""
