The chaperones have sought training in canoe and kayak instruction, high and low ropes facilitation and Wilderness First Aid certification to support the trip activities. In April, I became very ill and ended up in the hospital for many weeks. My colleaques went over and above to help out in every way they could. They conducted rehearsals, concerts, and helped prepare for a substitute that would teach in my absence. I am truly grateful to Alyssa, Bill and Marissa. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such wonderful people whom I call friends. No matter what the issue is that might take you to the health room, you are greeted with a smile, a listening ear, and the essential help that you need to deal with whatever crisis might have occurred. From the basic of situations like giving out band-aids, to taking temperatures, to handing out ice packs; to going assisting with far more complex medical needs, her calming nature is available for all. Last Friday marked the final House Assembly of the 2022-2023 school year at Mount Markham Middle School. During the event, the House Champion for the year was revealed, with the Appaloosas being declared as the winners of the House Cup. Congratulations to the Appaloosas!

On Wednesday, Mount Markham CSD sixth-graders attended a field trip at the KOA in Middleville. Students rotated through 13 different stations and gained a deeper understanding of many things involving conservation. Thank you to 4-H for sponsoring this field trip!
