MOUNT MARKHAM CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT STAFF SHOUT-OUT BUILDINGS & GROUNDS CREW THE NOMINATOR WROTE: "With the construction in the middle school, we needed to be creative with how to get all students involved in our Volleyball Unit. The high school PE staff (shout out to them as well) graciously offered to let us borrow their badminton standards, so it was asked of the B&G crew to get us some. Well, once we got them over here we realized that we really could use a couple of more! And they were more than willing and helpful with getting us some more, so we could have all students engaged here at the middle school! Thank you so much guys for always being there to help us get more stuff or move stuff around!! It makes our job that much easier!!"; images: a member of the buildings and grounds crew, Mustang, white and yellow text on red background

Introducing BusRight! Mount Markham CSD has partnered with BusRight - a transportation technology company - to allow you to keep track of your child’s school bus route to and from school directly from your smartphone!
about 1 year ago, Mount Markham CSD
Introducing BusRight! As you may have heard or seen in prior communication, we've partnered with BusRight - a transportation technology company - to allow you to keep track of your child's school bus route to and from school directly from your smartphone! What is BusRight? The BusRight app will allow you to, in real-time, follow your child's bus route to and from school, receive notifications when the bus begins and ends its route, where the bus is, and view the expected arrival time at your child's designated bus stop. How Can I Sign Up? Invitations to our rollout of the app will be sent to your email on November 28, 2023, from support@busright.com with the subject "You're Invited to BusRight." Your invite will contain a link to create an account with BusRight and will officially go live with bus routes on the morning of the 28th. Who Can I Contact For Support? Questions or issues regarding the use of the BusRight app specifically should be directed to support@busright.com. As always, questions about your child's bus stop or route should be directed to the Transportation Department at 315-822-2930. What Else Should I Know? We're working closely with the BusRight team to perfect the system and, in the meantime, ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to make improvements. Once launched, if you log in to the system and observe that the bus appears to be offline, it does not mean the bus route is not in operation - it is most likely the result of one of the following reasons: • The bus route has completed its run and is back at the bus lot and not turned on. • The Information regarding your location is incorrect. • The GPS tracking system on the vehicle is not online due to technical issues. (We have some challenging terrain) • If the route does not show as an option on your route list, you may not be assigned to the stop in the BusRight system. MEET OUR MUSTANGS! To welcome and introduce our new teachers to the community, Mount Markham CSD has started a new initiative called "Meet Our Mustangs." Today, we would like to welcome Joseph Urtz who is joining the district as a new Mount Markham Middle School Special Education Teacher. JOSEPH URTZ MIDDLE SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Mount Markham Central School District Challenging and Inspiring Life-Long Learners Q. Where and when did you receive your education? A. I received my B.S. in Spanish from Oneonta State College in 2001. I then went on to earn my M.S. Degree in Childhood Education & Special Education at Touro College. I have also completed administrative coursework through the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Q. Prior to joining the team at the Mount Markham CSD, where did you work and in what role? A. Prior to teaching at Mount Markham, I held several positions at Richfield Springs Central School. I served as a special education teacher throughout that time, primarily co-teaching math, social studies, science, and English. I also served as the high school Dean of Students for several years. Q. What do you look forward to in the coming school year? A. I look forward to getting to know an entirely new group of students this year. I'm also excited to have the opportunity to meet and learn from my new colleagues. Q. What is your favorite part so far about working in the Mount Markham CSD? A. I've truly enjoyed the positive atmosphere here at MMCSD. The students and teachers have all been very welcoming and have made my transition here an easy one. It's very much appreciated, and I look forward to spending the rest of my career here. Q. Outside of work, what do you do for fun? A. I enjoy spending time with my family. My son is a senior in high school, so I try to make the most of my time with him while he's still living under our roof. Other than that, I also enjoy spending time outdoors.; images: Joe Urtz, Mustang logo, blue text on white background and vice versa
