After graduating as a student in 2018 and now returning as a teacher, today we would like to give a warm welcome back to Alyson Ratcliffe! Alyson will now join our team as a third-grade teacher at the Elementary School for the upcoming school year.
Alyson graduated from Utica University in 2023 with her bachelor’s degree in Child Life Psychology and her certification in Early Childhood Education and Childhood Education. She then went on to teach fourth grade at Herkimer. Alyson says her favorite thing about being a teacher thus far is watching her students grow and seeing how much they have learned by the end of the school year.
Upon coming back to the district, Alyson is looking forward to being a part of the Mount Markham community again, meeting new faces, seeing familiar ones and sporting the royal blue at her alma-mater.
“Their support and involvement for students, athletes and for those in times of need does not go unnoticed,” she said.
When she’s not in the classroom, Alyson enjoys playing recreational volleyball- her favorite sport.
