MOUNT MARKHAM CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT JOHN'S NOMINATOR WROTE: "I'd like to give a hearty nod to Mount Markham High School night cleaner John Hoke. John is a consistently friendly and helpful coworker who is ever eager to pitch in above and beyond his job responsibilities. Over the holidays, I've witnessed John taking exceptional care of plants and animals in the ag lab and other classrooms, He always is quick to pitch in whenever he senses a need. Earlier this week I had to use the 18-foot ladder stored in the wings of the HS stage. When I had finished with it there was no opportunity to put it back in its proper location because the drama club had begun a dress rehearsal run-through. I placed it temporarily in the hallway near the stage and informed John that I'd be coming back to school to store it once the rehearsal was over. John, in typical fashion, volunteered to put it away. This was no easy task given the cumbersome nature of the chore, and yet John assured me it would be his pleasure, so I wouldn't need to return later in the evening. In recognition of his character, good nature and thoughtfulness, I send John Hoke this Shout-Out." images: John Hoke, Mustang, white and yellow text on red background
Some of our high school teachers just returned from an exciting NYSCATE Conference! This conference is for educators and technology specialists in New York to come together and share ideas about how technology can benefit student learning and engagement. Sarah Robinson and Alaina Brower ran two sessions on emerging technologies in the classroom that have enhanced education for our students at Mount Markham and how technology can facilitate cross-curricular collaboration between science and English classes. Marie Kenyon joined them at the conference as well!

Introducing BusRight! Mount Markham CSD has partnered with BusRight - a transportation technology company - to allow you to keep track of your child’s school bus route to and from school directly from your smartphone!
about 1 year ago, Mount Markham CSD
Introducing BusRight! As you may have heard or seen in prior communication, we've partnered with BusRight - a transportation technology company - to allow you to keep track of your child's school bus route to and from school directly from your smartphone! What is BusRight? The BusRight app will allow you to, in real-time, follow your child's bus route to and from school, receive notifications when the bus begins and ends its route, where the bus is, and view the expected arrival time at your child's designated bus stop. How Can I Sign Up? Invitations to our rollout of the app will be sent to your email on November 28, 2023, from support@busright.com with the subject "You're Invited to BusRight." Your invite will contain a link to create an account with BusRight and will officially go live with bus routes on the morning of the 28th. Who Can I Contact For Support? Questions or issues regarding the use of the BusRight app specifically should be directed to support@busright.com. As always, questions about your child's bus stop or route should be directed to the Transportation Department at 315-822-2930. What Else Should I Know? We're working closely with the BusRight team to perfect the system and, in the meantime, ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to make improvements. Once launched, if you log in to the system and observe that the bus appears to be offline, it does not mean the bus route is not in operation - it is most likely the result of one of the following reasons: • The bus route has completed its run and is back at the bus lot and not turned on. • The Information regarding your location is incorrect. • The GPS tracking system on the vehicle is not online due to technical issues. (We have some challenging terrain) • If the route does not show as an option on your route list, you may not be assigned to the stop in the BusRight system.
