Students with Mentor

The Sources of Strength group at the High School recently hosted their annual "Mentor Madness Week," aimed at highlighting the valuable relationships students have with staff. Mentoring and Trusted Adults are a large component of the Sources of Strength Program as "having strong connection with Trusted Adults is a significant protective factor in the life of a young person. One of the primary outcomes of Sources of Strength is increasing trust towards adults."

During Mentor Madness Week, students participated in daily competitions including “Dress Like Your Mentor,” “Guess the Mentor’s Song,” and “Guess the Mentor’s Pictures,” to strengthen the bond between student and mentor. Each morning, volunteers took part in "Minute to Win It" competitions pairing one staff member with one student, culminating in Mr. Gates and Caden Walker emerging as the winners.

To conclude the week, the Sources of Strength group held the 4th Annual "Wellness Fair" for students. The fair featured representatives from various community organizations, with an emphasis on Mental Health and Wellness. Students participated in hands-on activities and enjoyed learning from the various representatives present while enjoying healthy snacks, music, and games. Thank you to all our visitors and to our many student and staff helpers for once again making this event a great success!
