Joseph January Optimist

Joseph Brutsky has been selected as the Mt. Markham Optimist Club 8th Grade Youth of the Month for January.

Joseph is the son of Vladimir and Yekaterina Brutsky of Frankfort, NY. While in Middle School, Joseph has been involved in the National Junior Honor Society and currently serves as the President. He is also a member of the Junior FFA. Joseph is a student in the accelerated Algebra, Living Environment, ELA, and the Intro to Building Trades DDP advanced technology class. Joseph has received five MMTA awards in Elementary school and five MMTA awards in Middle School. He also earned the President’s award for Outstanding Academic Excellence. He has been on the Gold Honor Roll throughout his Middle School years.

Outside of school, Joseph enjoys kayaking and paddleboarding, spending time with family, playing the piano and guitar, and attending his church activities. Joseph has volunteered in the community at a Veteran’s Shelter. Joseph’s future plans include graduating as Valedictorian and attending college. He would later like to have a job in the field of Carpentry. Joseph shared a quote–”Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently”--Henry Ford. To the Optimist Club, Joseph shared, “I am very thankful to have been selected as an Optimist Youth of the Month.”
