Mount Markham FFA Students Participate in Community Service Project
On Sunday, February 9th, students from the Mount Markham FFA chapter, under the guidance of their high school FFA teacher Mr. Bugbee, participated in the Millers Mills Ice Harvest as a community service project for National FFA Week. Participants Kadyn Derby, Adam Louis, Jacob Youngs, Natalee Griffiths, Samantha Hinman, Jillian Maine, Kyle Youngs, and Logan Eck took part in various activities.
The students helped with concessions, ice storage and gathering of the ice. The Millers Mills Ice Harvest is an annual tradition (weather allowing) that has gone on for over 200 years, this is a community wide event that brings our community back to the basics and allows for reminiscing and good times. FFA is honored to be a part of such a nostalgic tradition. - FFA
Junior FFA students celebrated FFA Week with a fun spirit week full of themed dress-up days: red, white, and blue day; agriculture apparel day; FFA apparel day; hat day; and flannel day. Trivia posters were also displayed around the middle school to educate students about the FFA club, with FFA Teacher, Mrs. Lindsey. It was a fantastic week of school spirit and learning!
