coffee house

On Thursday, September 19, the Mount Markham Speech & Debate team hosted their first Improv Coffee House in the high school library. Students were invited to participate in a variety of fun prompts and activities for improvised scenes and impromptu poetry slams.

The Improv Coffee House is a fun event where students can try their hand at a variety of improvisational skits and activities. They are an open invite to everyone and present a non-competitive version of what the travel Speech & Debate team does. Organized by Sue Culver, the event is a way to build interest and provide an opportunity for students who may be interested in Speech & Debate, but may not have the availability to be a part of the travel team.

The next Improv Coffee House will be on Thursday, October 24 in the high school library. The featured event will be TED Talk song lyrics, with prizes for the top three presenters!
