Welcome to the library page!

I would like to take a minute to introduce myself. I began teaching at Mount Markham in 2018. Prior to coming to Mount Markham, I was a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for 4 years, a Kindergarten substitute teacher and taught classes at Mohawk Valley Community College. I attended George Mason University for my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and the University at Albany for Master's library classes. My current teaching certifications include birth-2nd grade, 1st-6th grade and a supplemental certification as a library media specialist. I have enjoyed teaching library classes during the year and summer school the past two years. I love that the library teacher position allows me to develop relationships with all of the students in the school. It also allows me to engage in fun literacy lessons and share my love of children's literature. Hopefully my love of children's books rubs off on the students! My goal is to assist students in finding books that are appealing and help foster a love of reading.

My husband and I have three children; two sons and a daughter. We also have three cats...one for each child I guess. We enjoy playing indoor and outdoor games, traveling and camping. I grew up in the Mohawk Valley, but also lived in Virginia for 6 years. We enjoy the Mohawk Valley staples of half moons, tomato pie, chicken riggies and Utica greens too much to live someplace else.

I look forward to helping each student find the perfect book!.Happy reading!
