Mount Markham is located in the Mohawk Valley-Central New York area and is the second-largest school district in Herkimer County. Our school district spans four counties and includes many townships. 

Established in 1969, Mount Markham is a consolidated school district formed by merging three smaller central school districts: Bridgewater, Leonardsville, and West Winfield. The district is considered rural, with numerous small hamlets and villages spread across the two hundred square miles that define Mount Markham's boundaries.

Mount Markham is a large, diverse community that shares a common rural heritage. We believe that every child in Mount Markham is a gift to be appreciated and nurtured. Together, we aim to challenge and inspire our children to become lifelong learners.
